Poetry recitation competition

Join us for the University of Bristol Poetry Recitation and Poetry Writing Competition, where participants will showcase their talent in reciting poetry that aligns with the powerful theme of motivation. Participants are invited to select a published poem in any language, ensuring it resonates with the theme. For works in languages other than English, a brief explanation of the poem's meaning in English will also be required to be included in the narration. This event encourages not only the appreciation of poetic artistry but also the ability to convey emotions and inspire audiences through recitation. Judges will evaluate participants based on their recitation skills and the emotional connection they establish with the audience, making this a unique opportunity to shine and share the transformative power of poetry. Details to be announced soon.

Mindfullness Festival

Join us for the Mindfulness Festival from 19th Feb to 24th February, a unique event organized in collaboration with various societies at the University of Bristol. This festival aims to encourage students to step away from the distractions of their phones and the pressures of social media's 'fit-in' narratives. Through a series of engaging activities, we invite you to reconnect with yourself, spend time in reflection, and fully immerse yourself in the present moment. Experience the benefits of mindfulness and well-being as you explore your thoughts and emotions in a supportive environment. The Mindfulness Festival will feature guided meditations, dance workshops, music gigs, creative fine arts workshops, kung-fu and pilates sessions, nature walks, sports, games interactive sessions and a stand-up comedy night, designed to foster genuine connections with oneself and others, throughout the week. Whether you're a seasoned mindfulness practitioner or a curious beginner, this festival is an opportunity to discover the peace and clarity that comes from simply being. Join us and take a step towards a more mindful and balanced life.
